Eating Problem I love when they drink like that although it is kind of scary. You can try meal worms or earthworms. Also they sometimes need to settle in before they eat. Just keep trying. Some of them like to eat in private also.

Eating Problem Yea mine are healthy and well hydrated but they drink like that still! Like bonnie said, keep offering food, if it’s only been to days, he might just need to relax before he’ll take food, all the transport and different environments stress them out quite a bit. Let us know if hes eaten or not in a few more days if you are still having problems or have any more questions!

He died Aw I’m sorry to hear that. If they are at a pet store for long enough and not taken care of and properly hydrated, it can definatley take a toll on them. And if he was wild caught, many of them are in poor shape when they reach a pet store and need immediate proper care:(
If you get a fairly healthy, and particularly a captive bred one, once they get settled in they are very tough and wonderful pets. I encourage you to try again if you are still interested in them, and thought that they are as cool as we all do, they are more than worth the occassional heartache and effort!

He died aww I am sooooo sooo sorry too. I bought one from the pet store too and she died a couple months well like 6 or so months after I bought her. She was very ill the vet did say. So, it just makes me so mad to hear that all these MHD’s being bought at pet stores are dying. I really want to go to them the main board place and tell them to stop getting them. They dont even tell you anything about them. There are certain things they need and I didnt know but when I found out, I immediatly bought it all but it was too late. She practically died in my hands. The vet found parasites in her and they tried to treat her but she chocked on the meds (b/c she was so weak) and died. I cried for 2 days str8. And yes, they are worth it. I am going to get another and this one will be spoiled just like my other lizards! :) I hope this doesnt discourage you on these lizards. You need to find a breeder.. thats where you get great pets. Good luck though!

He died If you only had it for a few days I would ask the pet shop for a refund. If you get another one check out it’s back legs and hips. If the hips are sticking out and the legs aren’t plump don"t buy it. Unfortunatly the wild caught ones do die all to frequently. If you get one that looks good and worm it right away you have a good chance of having a healthy pet. They are out there.
Like Deri said. Many of the shops don’t know how to care for these guys and they just don’t get off to a good start. There are only 3 shops in my area that I will sell to because of this. I’ve given them advice on how to keep them but all they want to do is turn them over fast. One shop killed all 4 of his by putting them in a 10 gallon tank with a heat bulb. Said it got to be 100 degrees in Vietnam. Thought I sold him sick dragons.
