Reptilechannel.com MHD info Well I went to this website to check it out after seeing it advertised a bunch in Reptiles magazine, and when I went t the MHD profile I found this written as part of their care info:"High humididty is an absolute must. Keep a mist bottle of clean water next to the cage and use it nearly every time you view the mountain horned dragons. Failure to do so may result in skin shedding problems and dehydration" ...I’m thinkin, cool, all good so far.. then the last part was this "because this is the only way mountain horned dragons drink. Skip the water bowl completely with these guys" Whoops. They did all right with the rest of the info but could not have been more inaccurate with that part, right?! Mine drink deeply from their water pan and soak rather frequently. I have ever seen one anywhere attempt to drink from leaves or when I mist. Maybe they associated the need for moving water as being provided by misting the way it is with some geckos and anoles, but I’m certain a MHD with no water bowl to soak and drink from would dehydrate somewhat no matter what the humidity. I mist every time I go near their cage and the humidity still drops alot in between those times...Also the only scientific name mentioned was capra, though they said something at the end about "all Acanthosaurra species" ... So I just thought I’d see what ya’ll think about that.
