 Mountain Horned Dragons - Help

I had a present of a breeding pair of MHD’s for Christmas (much wanted gift). I returned from work work today to find the male dead on the base of the terrarium.

I had not seen him eating for some time but assumed he was eating in the vegetation in which he used to hide. Locust were disappearing rapidly!

Besides the fact I am upset at losing my lizard, I need to know if I can introduce another male to the terrarium and whether the existing female will tolerate him and if they can breed.

Any advice is welcome

Sorry about your loss, it is THE most unpleasent surprise to come home and find a pet has passed away:(

By ’locust’ do you mean crickets, or do you actually feed them grasshoppers?

A little more info could help us answer, particularly cage size, but I will say in my experience these guys, and girls, they are not very territorial. I’ve even kept to males and two females together with no issues. I’d say it is pretty likely she’d tolerate him, the breeding part is up to them!
