Rockys’ stopeed shedding and his head is black

Rocky has been shedding but stopped mid shed. Then we noticed he had mites. We cleaned the tank out today. He has lost quite a bit of weight as he wont eat much. I dont know if this is due to the mites or what. I am worried about his weight loss but also his color is really weird. He is usually a very light color but he stared shedding on his head then stopped. He hasn’t finished but his head is really dark and black. Is this normal or could somthing be wrong? Please any suggestions would be good. Thanks

You had a problem with him eating and having mites like back in July, right? I would guess if you have found mites again, you never fully got rid of them from the last time, and I would have to guess that yes, having them for that long would cause enough stress to make him sick...also you had his temps very high back then, what are they like now?
Either way, a vet would of course be the best option, if you have a good reptile vet in your area and can afford it. In the meantime I would maybe try soaking him in lukewarm water in a plastic cage or extra tank, something that’s never had chemicals in it, for about 20 minutes a day, that will help with hydration and the mites, and help get that unshed skin softened up, just don’t put alot of water in if you think he is too weak to want to hold up his head for long, you shoould just put a little water in and cover it most of the way to hold in all the moisture and humidity...I’d say he is having trouble shedding because of the mites. He definatley sounds unhappy. Until this, how had he improved from the last time you posted?
