 Loosing Fingers

We recently got a mhd about 3 months ago and just noticed a couple of days ago that its toe on its front left foot has fallen off and 2 of the other toes on the same foot are looking like they are going to fall off as well. Does anyone know why this is happening or what to do about it?

it is from bad shed he is not shedding correctly and its cutting off circulation to his appendages it happens to fingers. toes, tails, and even neck and nose. The best way to prevent and or stop this is by keeping high humidity levels, soaking him and using shedding products that are sold locally in pet stores. Hope this helps! Good luck! :D

Thanks for your reply Rexx. I ended up taking him to the vet the next day. She said the same thing, that it could be from not shedding but it had gotten to the point where they where infected. He is on oral antibiotics and 2 warm baths a day and an anti fungal cream for his fingers and toes. Dudley is doing a lot better. If it was a bad shed, would the under side of his feet have a whitish color to them? The vet also said it looked like his feet could have been burnt??? I didn’t have anything in his terrarium that could burn his feet but was wondering about his favorite place to hang out (a rock wall) "tropical decor kit" made in the Philippines by "All Living Things" sold at Pet Smart. Could the paint have some kind of chemical in it that could have been burning his feet??? I have contacted the 1800 # on the box and am waiting for a reply!

No problem Tam. I try to help everyone i can. i doubt the paint could be burinig his feet but thats good that you got him to the vet. very responsible unlike alot of pet owners. hmm yes his feet may have been burnt if they ever came in contact with a lamp or something if you bought him from petsmart or something (they dont take care of there animals well at all) but anyways, im glad hes doing better and good luck to the both of you! :D
