MHD in same cage as CWD?

Can I get away with this?
They are doing it in the pet store but they are still about the same size? I think I have a big enough cage inside (5’Tx 5’W x2.5’D) and 8’x8’x12’ in the back yard.
It looks a little empty with just one MHD.

Noooooo, not a good idea. It may work out in a store to keep certain animals together like this largely because it is usually for a only short time, and like you noted, often the animals are young.
CWD’s are much, much more active than MHD’s , and get much larger. I woould fear both the activity level and the size would cause stress and likley injury to the MHD. That is a good sized cage though, and would work for either species separately.
Although the two lizards ARE from the same regions of Asia, water dragons will bask and need temps significantly higher (85-88 degree hot spot) that MHD’s can tolerate.
Honestly the only thing I would ever keep with an MHD is another MHD. I have kept two males together, and they do end up getting territorial with each other, and one will dominate the other. Keep a boy and one, or several, girls together and you will have the most happy and healthy MHD’s! Your cages would certainly make a happy home for a group of them!
(This is my opinion and based on my keeping and learning about them for almost 6 years now!)
