 M/H dragon not eating well/shedding

We’ve had our MHD since March and he’s been eating around 10 crickets, dusted w/calcium every other day. I didn’t feed him Sun., only ate 1 cricket Mon, would not eat today (Tues). He is shedding around his head. He has moving water, I mist him but the humidity is around 55 to 60%. Seems alert...any ideas?

It could just be because he is shedding, three out of four of mine won’t eat while they are shedding, particularly around their heads. You could definitely try giving him a good soak for some moisture to help the skin soften up and come off. He should eat within a day or a few days after shedding his head skin.

I mist him and his surroundings twice a day. Is this sufficient with moving water? Thanks for help. I thought shedding and not eating must be related!

That’s what I do with mine, bubbler and a few mistiings. A humidity gauge can tell you exactly what it is at throughout the day if you want to monitor it closely. Mine stays around 50%, up to 70/80% after misting, and wonderfully higher when it’s raining out!
Two of mine are in various stages of shedding right now, so I do like to soak them in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes every 2 or 3 days. I cover the top of the container I soak them in with a towel about 90% of the way to make it really moist and humid in there. I give them a little sauna basically, and it does help!

Oh wait, from your first post I can see that you probably do have a humidity gauge, duh!
