can i go in the woods and cut the perfect brach or do i have to spend my money on a tree from a store

well you can do that but you have to sanitize it with bleach and then rinse it VERY WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! use a 1 cup bleach to 1 gal water solution and let it soak for a while and the rinse it very well. i suggest in a large sink to help rinse the bleach away. G

Make sure you disinfect if you cut down a random one; hot water usually works well. Hose it down too.

Usually, you just BOIL your branch! and that should do it.
i boiled my ferrets branches from the woods, and my tortoises bark.
It is completely fine to boil.
you dont need all this bleach and what not, just boil it hot water straight from the kettle (hottest water)... and fill it so the log is under the water if it floats turn it over every few mins
