what do you mean can you feed them? lol if you dont feed them somebody will be mad at you for sure. i feed my sudan 30 crix every week.

i have 1 golden gecko, 1 sudan plated lizard, 2 red eared sliders, 2 russian tortoises, 1 painted turtle, and 3 wild box turtles that live in my backyard. what about you?

30 fish including a 2 foot american eel

1 common musk turtle
1 alabama map turtle
1 caspian pond turtle
3 leopard geckos (2 regular, 1 snow)

1 beagle/border-collie mix

about the other thread--the snapping turtle was wild caught--thats odd a fish disease on a turtle. the others don�t have it though.i havn�t been on in a few days--too much homework

i was wonderin if my little (@ about 14 inches STL) sudan eats too much.. lol when the pet store has mice, i give him 2 small fuzzies (at least thats how theyre labeled) F/T, about 20 crix, 20 supers, and about 10 king mealies for the meats per week, i give him a dish of veggies every day regardless of his hunger. my veggie mix is 1/8th of an apple, a whole strawberry, a spoonfull of banana mush, and top the diced mix ontop of a pile of shredded mustard greens or collards. he loves that mix, but sometimes he�ll get picky and eat only one of the fruits or veggies out of the dish at a time, so a lot goes wasted after a 4 hour period. theres no tellin which one he�s got a taste for at one given moment either, he ate nothig but apples for a whole week (along with the usual proteins of course)

I think hes just young and loves his food. mine was like that at 16 inches but now at 18 he isnt eating as much. he wont eat any crix that have been in his cage for more then a day but when i put in fresh ones he will eat around 10 - 20. i dont know if he eats the others at night though. Put some feeding videos on here. id love to see them.

blagh yesterday was a sick experience.i fed my water snake a toad(i just moved him into another cage because he almost ate the other water snakes multiple times but i saved them all times thankfully)and the next day he either barfed the half eaten toad with a ladybug in it�s half digested stomach or made it into a big stinky gross fecie.what do u think he did? poop or barf it? and why did he get the half digested toad out of his system? too much stress? hibernation? sickness?dehydration?oh yeah and i had to pick it up bare handed

I just got a plated lizard on Monday. With all of the excitement of getting a new pet, (my 4 year old daughter picked it out and was over the moon) the only care instructions I got was.."it�s the same as your leopard gecko"
I am starting to think that this is crazy. We named the lizard Eragon, and it (not sure of sex..or even type of plated lizard) has already bit, and drew blood, twice, and seems very skittish and aggressive. I called the pet store, and she said just to leave it alone for a week or so, and then try to have contact with it then. My problem is this..I have read some care sheets, and some of your posts, and it seems that Eragon should be eating a LOT. I feed leo (the leopard gecko) one cricket a day, because that is all he eats. Could it be that Eragon is starving?? I also think that the pet store lady knows squat, as leo and eragon are nothing alike..care wise..any input would be great!!

Plateys are nothing like leos!!!

My platey Drago eats like 30 crix every other week! If you were feeding yours one a day please give him a bunch today! sudans grow to be atleast 1 and a half feet with proper care whereas leos get what 8 inches at max??? Im not saying your wrong im just saying the petstore lady is crazy and should not be allowed near any animal except the leos which she apparently might know about.

I gave Eragon 2 crickets, some pineapple and some tangereines. He loved it ALL. I am going to start giving him 2 crickets in the am and 2 more at night with some fruit in between. Plus, I read about temps, and put a heating light on his cage. he has come out of burrowing and now sits on his heating rock under the heat lamp, and my kids had him out earlier and he was a lot friendlier. Thanks for the info. i am a "lizard virgin" and i learn more everyday! anyway I can tell what kind of plated he (or she) is??

post a pic and we might be able to help. also to decide the sex just look on the back of its hind legs. if it has large bumps its most likely male. females have small or no bumps at all.
