 Crusty eye

Anyone have problems with crusty eye? It’s the weekend and I probly won’t get into vet till next week. I washed it off but it’s coming back again. Is there something wrong with my plated or is there something..... in the cage? some kind of sickness? Not sure I have only had my plated for 2 years almost. Not much info about sudan plated lizards! Any experience’s out there?
thanks
Danielle

my guess would be hes dehydrated. get him to a vet, theyll give him a fliud shot and some eye drops. itll run you about $30 for everything if you find the right place.

if you ABSOLUTELY cant get to the vet, try a reptile med distributor and try to get some Tobramycin, i think tetramycin is the same but oil based... but i think tetra is for turtles only. theyre reptile eyedrops. apply a few drops to a q-tip and rub slightly on the affected area untill the crust loosens(the eye should start to open), then drop about one or 2 drops in the open eye. do this for 1-2 weeks.

also if you cant find that, give him a warm pedialyte soak (1/4 unflavored pedialyte to 3/4 warm water) for a half hour a day, it shold clear up in a week.

make sure he’s pooping ok, kuz if it is dehydration theres a 50/50 chance its from an impaction
