 Substate sprouting?

i had my sudan plated lizard on a mixture of eco-earth and reptibark . i changed the cage around and put half of the tank reptibark / ecoearth and the other half white prosso millet that i just bought so he would have more substrate to dig in. so the next day i looked in the cage to see that he kicked some of the millet seeds around the damp ecoearth (near the water bowl) and they were starting to sprout. about 50,000 were sprouting! is this a bad thing or are the sprouts okay to have because they could be shelter or food if he gets hungry or to hide in?

ive had that happen to but they later got trampled by my lizards
