What do i use for bedding Most Plated’s should be kept at 50 - 60% humidity. If the area in which you live is rather humid all the time, you can use what most people would use for keeping a bearded dragon; textured ceramic tile (my favorite), AstroTurf (not my favorite), brown butcher paper, or paper towel. If the area in which you life is not at least 50% humidity at all times, a more practical approach would be to use substrate that will create higher humidity levels. Bed-a-Beast (or other coconut coir bedding) or if you live far away from a pet specialty store, you can use organic potting soil, and I stress the word ORGANIC, not just any old potting soil will do. The potting soil must not have any added chemicals, like Perlite (the little white balls found in commercial potting soil) or you can poison your animal. Any dirt-like substrate only needs to be lightly moistened, and should be kept well mixed to keep from compacting and lowering the humidity raising effectiveness.
Can you post pics of your Plated? How old is he/she? I love to see him/her. I have a Black-lined myself. Is the rest of your setup OK? Do you have proper lighting, UV and heat? What do you feed him/her?
