 Heat lamp bulbs

if i buy 1 dollar bulbs from wal mart will i get the same heat affect as one from a pet store cause there the same wattage?

no!! you need a basking buld thay are made for reptiles and it helps them grow ..and for food you need a uvb buld

Most are just overpriced floodlights and incandescent bulbs. The really expensive ones ( 35+ dollars ) are mercury vapor bulbs that produce the UVB and heat. Save yourself some money and just buy the normal (incandescent) bulbs if they are just for basking lights.
