New blood

I got this one @ the expo in White Plains on NOV. 26. She’s 9 months old and pretty thick already.

looks abit too fat to me. remeber fat is not a good thing. obesity can cause an early death.

nice snake though. i’ve been thinking of adding a blood to my collection.

Thanx. She does look pretty big. I’ve had her almost two weeks now. She just shed yesterday. The breeder I got her from said she was eating p/k or stunned medium rats, 1 a week. I tried today and she ignored the rat. I tried one of the live miced I was feeding and she took it but only one. Hopefully she’ll come around. Slhe’s still getting used to her new home.

I don’t know if this is your first blood or not, but once you’re on rats, you need to stay on rats. You’re going to have a hell of a time switching her over now.

well i know that some people have picky bloods but mine will eat anything at anytime. mouse, rat, hamster, chicks and she doesnt care if i mix it up either. as long as she knows she can eat it she will not hesitate. she eats pre killed and wouldnt pass up a meal anytime other than when in shed. i know that some snakes do get picky though so you may want to be careful. my blood eating anything in site may have to do with the fact that rat pups were hard to come by so i had to get what was available when she was young. now that i have a steady supply i feed her large rats but before hand she ate whatever was offered and if it was smaller than she liked she just ate more. hahahah. honestly she has better feeding response than either of my retics who wont pass up meals either so as with everything all snakes should be considered as individuals. everyone here is just trying to look out for ya though so thats why you will get mixed responses.

I left the rat in her tank that I tried feeding @ first for awhile and she ate it. I came back and dthe rat was gone. Guess she just wanted to be left alone.

Just remember they are FAT snakes in general and fat is generally a healthy condition for a blood within reason.

The one above looks like a fine specimen to me and I keep bloods. Vey nice snake and the owner looks to be doing a good job.

I went to da show on da 7th. didn’t get any new animals though. just supplies. I don’t remember da guy’s name (bad I know) but the table was in the back center right next to the table where they sold the live moss. I just found out that she may b a lil older than a year also. the amazon tree boas get from 4-6 ft. they stay pretty thin though and can b some mean lil mf’ers. they’re pretty though. good luck wit him
