He is about 38Ibs now and 5ft 6 Inches eats 1 Large Rat every 14 days or so. If you have never had a snake before these are not really the snake to go for. You are better getting some experience with an easier species such as a Ball Python for example as you should really have some awareness of reading a snakes behavior etc and used to feeding and keeping temps and humidity to a controlled environment. These are not snakes you want to make mistakes with. They are Hissy, more so than Biters to be honest, and can intimidate the wary or unsure. They never back it up is not true by the way they can and will bite if pushed too far and yes a large Blood latching on to you will hurt and you will BLEED alot. I think they get a bad rep but mostly thats due to imports of wild caught, if you get a baby from a good breeder and provide the proper care and handle them they will tame down. As youngsters they can be very skittish but they do calm down over time. Not a beginner snake at all. |

I have had snakes for over 20 years and I have been bitten less by Bloods than I have with Corns , Kings Balls , carpets and Burms. They dont deserve their rep IMO. I am due to feed the bloods this weekend so I will try and grab some more pics and throw them up. |
