HI i started with a rat snake too. I have a borneo blood and it takes a little bit longer to figure out what makes them happier compared to corns and kings. they seem to like temps gradients averaging a bit higher than some corns and really need alot more humidity. I personally use a pump sprayer(never used with chemicals) and a very big water dish to maintain a 60 - 70% humidity. plus BLoods get alot bigger so think about that. they are great snakes mine is a baby doll hope you enjoy yours if you get one.
