I need help with Blood Python! Please help!!

Are Bloods good for beginners? How big do they get? Can you please do me a couple of favors?
1) Post pics of your snake and its enclosure
2) Recommend a good breeder and how much a Blood will cost?

I would really like to care for this beautiful animal but want to make sure I am making a wise decision.
THANKS!

Well blood pythons are not really a beginners snake. They are a little harder to care for then a BP, they need a higher humidity about 60%, and temps about 85 hot side and 78-80 cool side. Blood pythons get about 5-7feet but are much heavier then a BP, they get about 30-40lbs. Some good breeders are probably VPI, Bob Clark, and N.E.R.D, I’ve seen them go from $100-$300. I have pics of my female but I don’t have any pics of her enclosure. here she is.

beautiful snake man. I can see that they get a lot heavier and thicker than a Ball P. I will definetly reconsider this. THANKS!

They do get a good size to them, but I just love mine. But if you aren’t looking for a bigger snake then they might not be the snake for you. There are some BP morphs that aren’t too expensive too like the pastels. They go from about $250 and up. Here is my pastel.

I would say they are not a good snake for beginners, though they are great eaters and most of them have a fairly good disposition, despite their reputation, they do need more special care than a Ball would. They are great fun but start with a ball.

This is not al all an unreasonable size for a healthy Blood Python:

This photo is from Pro Exotics (if you can’t tell from his shirt). They are great fun but they are harder. Try maybe starting with a Ball, and if you accomplish that, then try a Blood.
