ReptileGurl202, is that actually his enclosure? It’s funny how people say they love snakes so much yet they keep them in bare minimum conditions. I guess people see how most snake breeders keep their animals so assume that it’s the proper way to keep them. Also bloods require high humidity and I dont think an empty tank with newspaper substrate is doing too much. If that’s not actually his enclosure than forget what I’m saying but I’m sick and tired of seeing this. Most snake keepers are turning more into snake collecters. Not saying all because there is some awsome snake keepers out there but alot of them are the way I described.

Well It is a blood what else do you want her to put in there? I know that fat thing wont climb, she could put some diff substrata, but if it works and it keeps the snake clean and happy and temp and humidity are right then shes doing just fine.

Thank good she is not one of thoughts people how house 2 or more snakes together.

i use newspaper to? and my blood just has a water dish and a hide thats it he doesnt do anything just be lazy. and they do climb at all there to fat.

aspen bedding works good to, but i use newspaper and it works just fine with humidity to. some people are rude and jump to conclusions. if they would of just looked at your snake they could tell he looks really healthy and well fed!

I can barley even understand what you are saying. Try using Capitals and punctuations.

Yes, bloods are not the least bit climbers but that doesn’t meen you should put them in an empty cage. Also how do you plan on keeping your humidity to proper levels with newspaper? If you wet it than it would have to stay on a wet surface all the time, do this for too long and it will most definatley cause scale rot.
Ha, a small aquarium with newspaper floor and a water bowl, how could you expect him to be anything but lazy. Seriously have some sense. They are not as active as other species because they don’t have to be. They wait for their food to come to them instead of going out and hunting.

Aspen bedding is ok for a snake that requires low humidity, However bloods do not. At the proper humidity aspen will turn into mush and most likely mold. How do you keep your humidity up using newspaper as a substrate? Also I wasn’t being rude, and my conclusions were correct. Dare someone bring up something the typical snake keeper is’nt used to hearing. Also looking at her snake I can tell it’s fat as most bloods are. However, how in the world would you know if it looked healthy. My Uncle has cancer and he looks as healthy as a horse. I’m not saying it is’nt healthy, I’m just saying looks can be decieving.
The first thing I did when I looked at the picture was sigh. "Just another one of the bunch". The snakes body almost takes up the entire enclosure. And there is no place to hide, seek shelter, and not enough space to properly thermoregulate. You’re saying this is ok? I think it’s disgusting.

It seems like all you guys are brainwashed or something. You don’t think about things as a whole. Do a little research about the animal itself, its natural habitat, its climate, range, feeding habits. Respect these animals for what they are. To me, mimicing the conditions of their natural habitat is the best part of keeping herps. I don’t see how any of you could get any sort of satisfaction looking at a big depressed snake in a small empty aquarium. It just does’nt make any sense. Not saying you should go out and build the biggest most realistic enclosure you can, that’s not the point. What I’m saying is at least provide the animal what it needs. Not just to stay alive like most of you do, but to thriveor at least enjoy living life. I can no where near express my true feelings for this subject in words but I hope some of you understand what I’m trying to say. There’s plenty of time to change the way you do things.

Ha, ok you guys win! I’m sure your snakes absolutley love to be confined in a small empty fish tank. I bet they’re thriving too! You guys are right. After all you’ve probally read every care sheet there is to read. I’m deeply and utterly sorry for my false convictions and appologize for my rude behavior.
Continue the way you do things because that is the way YOU want to do them, right. Never mind the animals true well being as long as you have a big ole’ snake that you can show off to your friends.
You know the thing is, I dont have a degree in herpetology, zoology, or biology. In fact, I’m only 16. I thought I’d at least try to brake the typical snake keeper attitude, but I guess it cannot be broken. All I’m saying now is the more you give and provide the more you’re snake will benefit. If you have a true passion and appreciation for these animals than you should be more than happy to do that. I guess most of you do not or are just stuck into thinking this way. But whatever right.

Satan lol haha...Well.. lol Oh and nicee snake u got dude..and for steven as far as for my snake being in a small cage or...something...hes not...that picture wasnt even half his cage , ive had snakes since i was like 10 first one was a boa...So its kool that you like to post ur opinion but ive had that blood python for yrs and no i dont just have him to show off to my friends ..tell u the truth no one sees my snakes besides me...and i use to work at a reptile store and take care of all the snakes and other reptiles its nice that u care ..but i do take care of my snakes....thanks,

And Lizardkid your kind of a loser huh? kind of a dork? all you have to do is get on here and talk crap to people who are proud of there animals and want to show them off. and newspaper holds humidity pretty good........its called using a plexi glass inclosure thats all sealed and misting the sides of the enclosure daily with warm water..... and mine stays at about 75 percent. and another thing dont ever insult my intelegence and say you cant understand me, Its called having a life im a Swat team police officer. And am in a hury on break!!!!!!!!!!!!!
