Question for the experienced... so I know that when you check your animal out for any irregularities one thing you should do is feel its ventral side to make sure there are no hard lumps. what do hard lumps mean? also my blood hasnt pooped since last august of 2007. I know they can go for a while without going, but this seems pretty extreme to me. The only reason I havent asked about it sooner is because everytime I ask a question the answer is really that I need to have patience. anyways, if anyone knows whats up or has some guesses, I would appreciate it.

Question for the experienced... A hard lump could mean super hard urate balls are blocking him up. If it’s been 8-9 months, I would start to be very concerned. Since it’s been this long, I would say get him to a vet because all other suggestions are sort of pointless.
Oh, has he been eating this whole time? How often, and how big are you feeding him?

Question for the experienced... yeah shes been eating and growing the entire time. I actually just walked in to find her soaking in her water dish for the first time since shes been in her adult enclosure. Im pretty excited about it. anyways, we’ll see if she relieves herself tonight. what are the causes of the hardened urates?

Question for the experienced... oh to answer the other question, I feed her every 10-14 days now since shes starting to put on weight, I fed her large rats two times in a row, but the past week I just did a medium. those two large rats are the only 2 large ones shes ever had. everything else has been smaller.

Question for the experienced... Those super hard large urates can be caused by many things like dehydration, too warm of temps etc.
It’s difficult to diagnose why they have those large urates, but it is common for bloods to be picky about their water. Preferring fresh water or nothing. Kara of NERD said that to me a while back.
Bloods are picky and should be given fresh clean water daily to promote hydration.

Question for the experienced...
All snake compress their urates to save h20. super hard bumps is just a sign of a sort of urate constipation. Maybe your snake is more paticular about the freshness of their water try provideing more avialable ,ample, clean water (bigger water dish). I found that whenever i change their water they like to leave me a present soon there after. Bloods love lots of water and really love fresh water too!!! Good luck with the lumps, and try more clean water. Good luck!
