Haha...I have a red blood so I’m a little biased. The Borneos are truly gorgeous and i want to get a few, but I think the sumatrans are the prettiest.

I think they’re similar as far as care goes. But i still have to go with the sumatran. Mine has been so mellow, it’s hard not to fall in love with them.

Since both of these species have a wide range in possible temperament, if you’re on the fence I’d say let that decide.

As far as looks; I agree with most of the other posts (Sumatran) but, like them I am biased.
I have 4 big snakes and my Blood is the prettiest and the chillest (even calmer than my Dumeril’s!) however; in my experience maybe 4 out of every 5 bloods I’ve seen are aggressive so def. handle first.

I deff say Sumatran, I have one I couldn’t love her more, she may even be calmer then a few of my ball pythons. But It’s really up to you and what you want, I would think they would b quit smiler in personality, and care. but look, get what you really like.

They are subspecies of Python Curtus.

P. c. breitensteini The Borneo shortail

and P. c. brongersmai and P. c. curtus the Red and black bloods respectively.

No blacks this year but we have borneos and reds, lots of them, oklahoma bred and hatched..
serpentim.com under construction and nothing available until they have fed numerous times..
Borneos are our personal favorites, they have a more placid demeanor than the reds..
