Why do they call the blood pythons
they call them blood pythons, because when they were first discovered, they were on a dead ox, and one of them was inside the carcase, in the fresh blood....... acually, i don’t know if thats true, but i read it in the snake identification book i have. so thats my theory on why they call them blod pythons. but if thats not true, than i hope they find it some time soon

Why do they call the blood pythons Well the sumatran blacks and the borneos are more so short tails, instead of blood like the sumatran reds and malaysians, the red sumatrans and malaysians get that name mostly because of the red coloration that they get to them, although people call all of the various species blood pythons all the same, the name really fits the reds the most due to their coloration.
