ok so heres my problem i dont know what kind of wood to use as i have a pretty modest budget im building this my self and need a few tips like light placement to protect my snake from burns /airation /and finaly things safe to cover the wood on the bottom for sanitation purposes as plexiglass is not an option

as you can see what i used too make my tank with. i got every thing at lowes or home depot. for the bottom i used kitchen tile with clear rubber silicone and it work’s out for me. but some one might tell you to do it different. there is so many way’s you can go about it. it’s all up too you how u want it.

THE WOOD WAS $6.00 FOR A 4X8 sheet and the plexiglass was about $50.00. the cost me about any were from $100-150 too make.

Can you tell me how many sheets of plywood and how many 2x4’s it took to build that? Also, what’s the size of the cages themselves, and how tall it the total unit? This is pretty much exactly what I want to try to build.. Any pics of the build process?

OK the hole tank is 5ft high 2ft wide and 8ft long as you can see that there is two tank each tank is 2ft-2ft/high-8ft long. it took 4 sheet’s of 4x8 that cost $6.00 and 13or14 2x4 that cost about $2.51 so just right there is $59.14. i hope I’ve been a big help! here r the pics...........josh

I don’t have a burm yet, but my red tails enclosure is 8f x 4f x 4f, she has a box in the bottom that is 1f x 4f. But she is a red tail. lol. no where near the size of a burm. I like josue’s cages they are nice, Mine is stading tall, because she loves to climb, when I had my burms in Florida they didn’t really do much climbing unless it was my curatins.
