Just a few questions hey everyone, ive been thinking about getting a baby burm for about two years now but have been holding off cuz some other stuff came up and i didnt want to get a snake like that and not take proper care of it so i just didnt get one. but now that im 18 and have a job to support it (food, vet, ect.) and more importantly my parents dont mind cuz i can move out when it gets too big (lol). im once again thinking about it. i was just wondering if any of you experianced burm owners had any input or advice for me. i have had boas, balls, corns, geckos, and currently have a baby savannah monitor so i am not "inecpierianced" and i have done hours of resurch on the internet and reading books so i think im semi prepaired for what i might getmyself into. thanks in advance!

Just a few questions aside from just the size issue, you have to remember the other costs involved. proper heating, feeding, handling time, etc. when i bought my first snake, i quit my job serving at a restaurant and found a better evening job that wouldn’t cut into the best times to handle my snake, to make sure he didnt’ get hostile. i’m sure you’ve seen, in your studies, the growth rate of these snakes; within a year they can grow anywhere from 6 to 8 feet, are you ready to move out within a year? are you going to be able to handle this snake when it gets to 15 feet and weighs upwards of 100 pounds? as the snake gets bigger, are you going to be financially able to feed it? and you always need to evaluate your finances for extra. can you save enough for the random emergencies? don’t get me wrong, i absolutely adore my burm, he’s a good friend and he’s very very good with people, i would recommend one to anybody, its just a completely different ball game when you’re dealing with one of the biggest snakes available on the market, as compared to a ball python. good luck with your decision, just make damn sure you want to do it. here’s a picture of my burm jesse and i, i absolutely adore this snake! good luck!
