Question it seems like everyone you talk to takes a different guess on how big a burmese will get, but my understanding is adults will get anywhere from 15 to 20 feet, given all the right circumstances. of course, like any other reptile, females are bigger and weigh more. concerning the temperament, i’ve found my burm to be as sweet and as gentle as can be. granted, he’s only 4 feet long, but i have no hesitation taking him out for people to hold on any given day, and i never have to worry about him biting anybody. are you looking to get one?

Question yeah you can’t just hope a snake won’t get really big. if you want a snake, you have to be certain you can handle it any way it comes... whether its a five foot snake or a 15 foot snake, its going to be your pet for a long time, and you have to make sure you can handle it as much when its full grown as you did when it was small. my three roommates are all strong enough and experienced enough in snake handling that i feel confident owning a burm, because i know when the day comes that he’s full grown, i won’t have to handle him alone, which can quite honestly be dangerous. even red tail boas can get big enough you don’t want to handle them alone, there’s a lot of homework and personal evaluation to be done in these circumstances.
