Question about feeding. Generally I buy the rodents I feed my RTB are bought as live rats that I kill and feed to her dead, I was wondering if feeding the rat before I kill it and feed it to my snake would be beneficial for my snake. I do not yet own a reticulated python, but am very interested in getting one and would like to get to know some of the people on this part of the forums, and in time I might purchase a retic myself. Thanks.

Question about feeding. generally feeding f/t or prekilled is seen in the nature of the snake when you go to get them out. Feeding live could trigger a feeding response and the snake could mistake your hand for food more.. There is nothing wrong with feeding live but with the risk of a bite from a live rodent its not worth it... Hope this helps and keep us updated if you get a retic

Question about feeding. I stated that I fed my snake dead rats that I buy as live and then kill (I do not feed my RTB live), but was wondering if it would be beneficial to feed the mouse before I kill it and feed my snake in order to somehow benefit it (because of the extra nutrients the mouse has consumed) I want to make sure that no harm will be done, and what should I feed the mouse to benefit my snake the most?

Question about feeding. I feed my RTB small-mid sized rats atm, shes only about 6’9" but not a bad size for a RTB for just under 2 years old, still lookin for an answer. Thanks.
