Retics legal in NJ? 
Does anybody know if retics are illegal or not in new jersey. I know they dont allow turtles, venomous, and anacondas but a kid told me today that we cant have retics neither. He works at a pet store that sells reptiles so I figure he should know. Another kid from petsmart told me burms are illegal in NJ but he turned out to be wrong. NJ does allow burms but with a permit ofcourse. This really sucks, my dream snake is a tiger retic. I was planning on having my own collection when I bought my own house. This annoys me. Does anybody know?

Nice burm!I wish I cpuld tell you but I hope you are able to have one.
Heres mine they are by far the best snake EVER!
And here himyawning after his rat.
But if you do get one you well love him or her.
Oh I sure you might find something out on google or Gurnt or Joecool should know.

thats one gorgeous kid you got there. now you’re making me jealous lol. All the ppl who dont own retics say theyre bad but ppl who actually own them say theyre great, by far the best snake to have. I wanna know what theyre talking about. Ive fallen in love with their personalities and I dont even own one. I see a whole bunch of them at the hamburg expo all the time and if I cant have one it’ll sure be tempting everytime I go there. I dont wanna have to break the law lol if you know what I mean.

Yeah I know what you mean but retics are not really agreesive at all but there is a retic or two that are a but nippy but with regular holding they tame down and there puppy tame mine was really nippy but and 1 week he was puppy tame.But you said a kid that work at a pet store told you ther were illegal well most pet store have NO idead what there talking about.
I hope you find your answer and get one and trust me there just like any snake these snake are one of the tamest snakes I have ever had and grunt aka shawn who breed burms and retics said that most baby tics are tamer then baby burms and grunt know his stuff.
So overall the snakes are the best snakes in the world but thats just my opion hope every thing works out good for you.

thanks alot dillan. Yeah my burm was hissy and a lil tiny bit bity for 2weeks then just hissy for another 2weeks and now he’s my tamest baby. I did talk to grunt before and he actually told me he recomends retics over burms. He’s one of the ppl who made me really want one. I dont believe there aggressive like non retic owners say.
Well I did research and the NJ fish&wildlife said on their website you need a permit for all python species. I also looked at the section of animals that were considered dangerous and they had crocodilians and venomous snakes but they didnt say anything about retics. So right now my hopes are up. but Ima keep doing research.

Retics are legal in NJ with a permit. I know alot of pet stores that said their not but they are wrong. As long as you have a valid permit for them you will have no problems. I myself own retics but I have herd while I talked to the Fish and Wildlife Dept. that they are trying to make retics illegal but it has not passed yet...

lol Ahh man I almost bought a nice normal female with a good personality last show but I cant have a female just too big for my family to tolerate with. I dont care but they do so no large female burms or retics til I get my own house. Im lucky that the male tigers werent that pretty so I wasnt really tempted to buy one. This next show I hope I dont see pretty baby tics cuz then Im going to come home with one. I just spent 300 on a cage for my burm so imagine a retic . One day we’ll own retics and brag about them lol.
