 Breeding problem

I have a female retic who is now in the middle of her breeding cycle, she tries desperately to get out of her vision cage. in the process however, she has disfigured her face and has made her nose area pink due to all the pushing. how can i prevent any damage/infection due to this and will she stop once she sheds?  Breeding problem

Hey Kevin,
What temps are you keeping her at and how big is your female retic? To prevent infection just keep the cage clean at all times and clean the area of her face with a little 50/50 water and brown listerine *generic brands will work* and up the humidity and hopefully she will stop! I know my 14 month old Tiger Het *female* and Albino Tiger Lavender *male*, rubbed their faces pretty bad but as long as I keep their cages clean, and them fed, I don’t have any problems! Also after a few sheds her face should go back to normal!
