 Burm or Retic? new snake debatee.

So, the past few months that i’ve been working reptiles shows I’ve been handling many different burms and retics. Getting to know them and what not, i’ve become very interested in possibly purchasing one. I have cages already in line if I need them.

I am having problems deciding which to get. What are your opinions?
Should I get a burm, or a retic? I love both, very hard to decide.

I currently have 6 snakes, and have had 8 years experience with just about every type out there working at these shows and helping out friends who have them.

Now, it’s my turn! lol. What do ya’ll think?

This is my biggest girl right now.

i would say a retic male... just because they dont get friggin huge.. and the laws that are going all over with burms.... but in the end it comes down to what do you like more... i had burm’s for years.. once i got retics.. every other type of snake i had ... had to move out lol

I agree with Joe retics are the best and the only reason we have a burm is because it belongs to my wife. the retics are mine

Alright! You are right, the laws lately are changing a lot and around here people get real nervous when you talk about havin big snakes such as burms, anacondas and such. We have so many retics, burms and ’condas at our local shows here. I was looking at our last one, had a lot of nice stuff. So hopefully this weekend I find something that catchs my eye. I’m very excited though!

Joe, i’ve seen all your pictures! Totally insane you have an amazing collection, do you have some for sale on fauna? I swear I seen you on there.

how big do male retics get usually?{lavender}to joe or grunt. cause you guys had tons of them..

I believe males get to about 12’ - 14’ in length.
Females get 17’+

lol ya i have a few on fauna. but they are just up there to see if i can cut a few. i have 2 super tigers and a lavender Albino male up on there.. i have a 15 foot male Retic so its really hard to say what a male can get. it everything with these things depend On the owner size . attitude everything lol. thank you for your nice comment on my collection i appreciate it :) if you get bored feel free to check out my youtube stuff. just search Joecoool2003 :)

Yeah I recognized some of your pictures on fauna, haha I always look forwards to looking at the new pictures of your collection that you put up (: I guess I’ll just have to get myself one and in the end see just how big he gets, haha! Fine with me. My friends already think I am insane for having a 7ft boa already, let alone being a girl and having 6 snakes.
