 Cypress mulch

I have been told that cypress mulch was bad for snakes...I just read the article from bob clark that said

:Cypress mulch maintains humidity in the cage and is resistant to decay. Other wood products rob the cage of moisture and can be dusty. For small snakes, indoor/outdoor carpet may be acceptable.

So i am wandering if its good or bad. the link to the site i read that from is in the thread about needing questions quick or something like that..

Who told you that Cypress is bad? I like it pretty well, but prefer newspaper. But Cypress is great for humidity as is said in the article, and certainly looks better than newspaper if you’re going for a naturalistic setup. Cypress can be hard to get depending on your area, but if you can find its usually pretty cheap from a place like Lowes or Home Depot. I thinks a little under 2 dollars for a 4 cubit bag of it here.
