 Would it work?

Would a Childrens Pythons be able to live its whole life in a 10 gallon tank? The reason that I am asking is that I am looking at buying a bigger tank for my anole, but want to be able to "re-use" the cage. (yes I know that I would need to take the cage apart and clean it, but that wouldn’t be a big problem.)

I wouldn’t do it. Get a 20 gallon instead.

Nahh I dont think they will suprass 4 ft but they get like 3 tops and you know theirs allways that x factor that grows bigger... I think that 20 gal long would be better more space..!

Let me rephrase what I said: A 20 gallon would be the minimum for a Childrens Python, but the bigger the better. Don’t subscribe to that "too big of a cage=stress" philosophy that keepers go on about. So long as there are hides throughout the cage, and it is not so large that you can’t find it or it cant find its food, there is no problem.

Get the 20 Long. It’s still a foot high, so you’ve got room for some branches, but a 20 Tall doesn’t provide much ground length. Having a longer cage gives you a better margin of error on providing a decent thermal gradient too.
If you want something even smaller than a Children’s, you might want to look into Anthill Pythons. I suspect they’ll be a lot pricier though.
