Is it common ??? There could be a number of reasons for this. If I understand you, you’re saying its never been nippy before and only just started? Have you looked it over and checked for any injuries or signs of illness? When you handle it, do you handle it gently and support its body well? Are you washing your hands before you handle it?
If it was in a shed cycle it most likely does not want to be held. I make it a point to leave mine well alone when they are in shed as it only stresses them out.

Is it common ??? I’m sure you’re right. It was just insecure due to shedding. Its good to hear he’s better.

Is it common ??? If it’s shedding they normally can’t see as the eye caps become opaque. When I got my Jungle Carpet, I got her when she was shedding so we put some warm water on her and it came off perfectly but I was getting worried because she kept on going into strike position, she sounded like she had RI and kept opening her mouth but as soon as I realised she was sheddingI new that she couldn’t see, she couldn’t breath through her nose that well so she was weezing and had to open her mouth to breath. Anyway after all of telling you my pythons life story, what I’m getting at is that they can’t see when they’re shedding so if you touch them they automatically go into defence mode and start striking.
