Carpet python I am thinking of getting a carpet python... So what can anyone tell me about them? As in their likes/dislikes about them, what species/morph to get, and any tips for a first time carpet owner? I have already researched them...

Carpet python I have two carpets. One is an IJ and the other is an IJ/Coastal integrade. There is absolutely nothing I do not like about either one. I like everything about both: temperament (gentle, curious, don’t hide all day like balls), manageable size, physical characteristics and color/patterns, good feeding response, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. I wouldn’t trade them for any other snake. :-)

Carpet python Thanks for the reply, I really want to adopt my next herp, so I figured there were a few for adoption and I should check them out...

Carpet python You’ll probably find more boas, ball pythons, and of course Burmeses up for adoption than carpets. However, buying one that the current owner doesn’t want any more is basically the same thing: you pay fee, snake gets home.

Carpet python I have found plenty of boas and balls, but not as many burms as you’d expect... Also, the fees are minimal to none. I have usually found with adopting reptiles that for the actual herp, their is little to no "fee", but for all the supplies, their is a bigger fee.

Carpet python "Herpetological specimen." It’s a quick, easy word that encompasses both reptiles and amphibians.
