Jungle carpet python dangerous to other pets?

My sister wants to get a jungle carpet python, but my dad is worried it’ll get out and eat my dogs or cat. So what do you think? I’m thinking it can’t.

Do you have a chihuahua or a saint bernard? :-)

Sure, it might be able at 6 or 7 feet to eat a very small dog (like a newborn puppy) but if you keep it in a securely locked cage, you have nothing to worry about.

They’re about 14 inches high. xDD if it can’t eat my cat, it can’t eat my dog. I just have to reassure my dad.

A cat would kill a jungle carpet. The cat might decide to play rough and the snake might bite it, but a bite from a jungle carpet is about as serious as a front claw scratch from a cat. A cat’s teeth or hind claws would rip a JCP in half if things actually got to the point of constriction. Or, the snake might just be scared of them and defend itself, but you can generally establish that there’s nervousness there under controlled circumstances. My carpet python is scared of dogs but has no issue with cats. Others may vary.
