Rat Sanke lover? i have a good qeustion for you!!! Have you thought that Rats are one of the most intellegent mammals in the animal kindom, a rat to me is less of a sacarfice than a Bunny, Rats are capable of upper level thought unlike bunnies. Yes bunnies are cute but id rather see a bunny go!! before a rat. A rat is rather a thinking indivdual, have you ever had a rat as a budd or a pet they are awesome pets.. Rats are smart dude!!! bunnies are dumb!!! dont be a sissy!. Yes im a animal rights type of person dont even think otherwise. Its the circle of life... Its not about cute little fuzzy things!!!

RSL is about as dull as they come in everything animal as far as I can tell from his posts I’ve seen. I have one rabbit and 3 rats as pets. I feed rats because they’re cheaper and if you decide to breed them for feeders they require a smaller cage than rabbits. Everybody’s gotta eat. Vegetarians would say we’re cruel for eating meet. It’s life. Get over it.

that female is a real "beauty"...ha ha sorry. Seriously she is a great looking snake. I think i may have gotten my female from you, the guy i got her from was in NC also. Are you on Constrictors Unlimited also?

If not? How are there tempermants? My big male is cage aggressive, but only rarely strikes now. He is good once he is out of his cage as long as you move slowly. My little female is growing like crazy, eating like a pig. She is still very flighty and will strike much faster. He is bluff no (well not normally, but there are occasions) bite, and she just skips the bluffing part...

too bad you don’t have them any more, i really like mine. They are such active animals, and VERY alert. Mine holds it head up and watches what goes on in the room. take it easy

Feeding live animals to reptiles in most cases is unnecessary and cruel.

Rabbits can be quickly dispatched by hand. Pick them up by the hind legs so they are dangling head downwards. Srike the back of the head right behid the ears in a downward sweap of the hand with the side of your hand. It breaks their necks and kills them instantly.

Why anybody would feed rabbits to a Beauty Snake is beyond me. I have 2 six footers and do fine on large frozen rats.

My two Beauty snakes are pretty tame. They get prekilled food. I think feeding live animals makes snakes more inclined to strike before "thinking". A misplaced bite or slow strike when dealing with a live rodent can create pretty painful consequences to a snake.

Beauty snakes are definetly more alert and intelligent than other rat snakes. I think it comes from an arboreal existance.

Well, I bought mine today and she’s great! Thanks for the "encouragement" RePtiLOVER! I know you’re not supposed to feed them right away, but she "looked" hungry and went for a pre-killed mouse while suspended from a branch!! Ate without a problem while hanging from the branch. Too kewl!

Here she is! I named her "Kokoro" because - at least from what I’ve looked up (tell me if I’m wrong), Kokoro means "heart" (center of emotions) in Japanese.
