 Texas Black Rat Rescue(11 Pictures)

I rescued this Texas Black Rat snake form a reptile shop who was giving this form a owner who couldn’t provide for it anymore. wasn’t kept in a clean tank at all. dried poop and pee all over tank. took me like 30 Mins of scrubbing to get it out. all he had was a 2 gallon bowl for water and a huge log that’s it. no real hides so he never had a hide. hes a beautiful Snake eating medium rats once a week Which i told the shop to lower his intake since hes getting fat. scales are streched so im gonna only feed him small rats every 14 days to help out.. at 6’6" hes pretty aggressive though. when i held him at first he was calm but then went all nuts and tried to take off. and hes real thick. was real hard to force back in tank. Well here’s the pictures for you guys. I hope he calms down for me since i got him set up with hides he uses non stop now. ENJOY!

That is going to be one handfull of snake!!!!LOL It is a very good looking animal though. Do me a favor and post those pics on kingsnake.com on the rat snake forum. You’ll get lots of responses over there. You do not see too many pics of larger normal texas rats like that.
