 Sick texas rat

My texas rat snake has become very sick. it is very dry and has what looks to be small bite marks along the tip of its tail. I have treated the situation as though it is a mite problem. does anyone have any suggestions. his condition is worsening weekly.

No not right now. I had a pair but one has died from this allready. along with the dry feel it appears to to have dark red splotches below it’s scales. which can easily be seen due to the fact that it is lecustic. it’s eyes appear to be very dry as well. It is obviously deydrated. do you think it could be an internal parasite infection?

Sound like a pretty serious parasitical infection, that (if you have already lost two snakes to) is probably contagious. 1st off, soak him in luke warm mater to get his skin re-hydrated and his fluids back up. 2ND GET TO A REPTILE VET. Your problem sounds serious if you have already lost a few lives to it. Ask him to perform a fecal examination. It’s something like 40$ but is the only sure-fire way to identify parasitical infections.
