Rex,
our Tai Beauty has just shed again for the third time this year, boy he keeps growing, we’ve just measured his last shed at 2.79m. When you take off the stretch factor that still puts him at nearly 8’9’’. He’s a big boy.

Have you ever just taken a measurment from the actual snake rather than the shed skin, because I’d like to know how you figure out "the shed factor" i thought the only logical way to get a proper measurment is by holding the snake and measuring end to end?

That is a very difficult thing to do accurately. Using his skin is by far the easiest way of doing it. When we have tried to measure him in the past, he always moves or creases up, not only that, but they can stretch a massive amount, proving difficult if not impossible to get a realistic accurate reading.

you could try serpwidgets. it’s a program that you upload a pic of the snake next to something for size reference (best thing I find is a dollar bill). set the length of the reference piece (6" for a bill) and then it allows you to click along the snake and calculates the measurement. it is pretty accurate.
