i have my grey ratsnake in a 4 foot enclosure with alluminum screening, which i learned is bad for them and plastic screening is better, but that would be like taking the whole enclosure apart and making a new one and i really don’t have alot of time for that.i don’t want him rubbing his nose and scratching it on the alluminum screened walls(which i have seen him do once) so i put some extra wallpaper on the bottom part of the alluminum screen where so he can’t look out and try to scratch his nose, and even if he does, he would scratch his nose on the wallpaper which wouldn’t hurt him. i have heard that paint is toxic if the fumes are sniffed in too much. so my question is, does wallpaper have paint that has toxic fumes on it and should i replace the wallpaper on the screen with newspaper?

The wallpaper should be fine. The fumes come from fresh paint that hasn’t dried yet.
