Your Questions 1) You can feed in the cage, nothing wrong with it has long as you make sure he doesn’t digest substrate. You should also only have aspen or cypress with snakes as a substrate. Other wood shavings like pine and cedar are hazardous to your snake. You can "cup" them if you want, there is nothing bad about it unless you "cup" it with a large, live mouse that could stress it out or attack it in close quarters. So when you are feeding larger , live mice, in the future, it is best not to "cup" them. 2) The temps should drop a few degrees. That usually happens in a house naturally. Just make sure you have multiple hides in the cage. You should have a minimal of two hides. One on the "warmer side" and one on the "cooler side". More hides are recommended though. These temperatures can be controlled by small ’under tank heaters’. Other info: Give it some climbing space, and supply a hide full of moist sphagnum moss or paper towels when its in shed. I’d be glad to help you any way I can. If you have any other questions about your snake, I can answer them. Feel free to pm me. Good Luck with your snake! |
