 Owie!! Any advice?

My bubblegum shed all except for the tip of her tail. I tried to help it off, and the very tip of her tail broke off! What should I do? It really didn’t "seem" to bother her, but I don’t want her to get an infection or anything. It only bleed a little spot and that was it. Will it be okay, or should I take her in? It was only the very tip of her tail, like less than 1/8". Thanks in advance.

i tend to say yes. I’m willing to admit that it’s probably not the most horrible medical emergency you’d see in five minutes of forum-cruising, but there is an infection risk, plus there’s the possibility that the reason it broke offin the first place is significant enough to have other repurcussions. If you had no money whatsoever, or there were no herp vets in your city, we could probably talk you through it fine with second-best options, but there is no reason to talk you out of just playing it safe and calling a vet.

They tend to handle vet trips quite well, actually, compared to, say, cats, so if added stress was a concern, it needn’t be.

I can think of a few reasons for it to have happened, but it’s silly for someone you don’t even know to sit online and try to stand in for a vet that can actually see the animal.
