 Playing dead??? please help.

i am from the red tail boa forumn. i have 2 red tail boas. but to day i found a rat snake outside. i have him in like a 10-15 gal tank. my question is: he has been doing great. but now he looks dead. i know rat snakes will play dead to escape danger. but how long will he do this if hes not really dead. it was just so sudden it dont seem possibe. this is my fisrt rat snake trying to keep. any help possible please. im so confused.

Rat snakes don’t play dead. It probably has some problems, or is extremely stressed. Take it to a vet, if able to be cured, do so. A main factor MAY (not 100%) be thats its wild caught (stress, parasites, etc...). If its not sick, It would be very healthy for the snake to go back where it belongs.
