 YAY I found a Red-tail!

After a lot of searching & calling I finally found a gorgeous young re-tail! My beau & I went to meet him/her. I get to take him/her home on my birthday so just one more week. I’ll pot pics as soon as I can.

Cool Congrats! Where did you find it? Post pics and keep us posted on how it does. I would LOVE to have one but I just don’t think I want a possilbly aggressive snake. I got one bubblegum rat that stinks (big brat) and a corn that bites ever now and again. I just hope they calm down more as they grow.

I’ve also heard nothing but bad tempermants on these extremely gorgeous beasts. One of the really good reptile shops here has a couple and they’re MEAN! However, I know that there are different personalities with each individual snake, so I hope you get one with a decent persona! Good luck!

Thank you Thunderer! The one we found seems to have a great temperment. Didn’t even go into strike position while I was looking at him even though girls were running & screaming all over the place. He’s even good about my hands shaking (I have epilepsy).

I’m so glad. I probably would have bought at least one of the ones at that store if they weren’t so DARN MEAN and if they were a little younger! They are practically adults and most likely do not get the attention that they need (mostly to be held on a daily basis). I was (AM) still fairly new to snake keeping, and didn’t want to get a snake that would really be able to do some damage if it bit at my hands and face.

I’m so glad that you found a younger and tamer one. I envy you! LOL.
