 BREEDING MICE

it depends on how old your mice are and if your female is ready. I bought two mice at a show in mid august and still have no babies. The female was significantly smaller than the male when I got them, but within the last 2 weeks she has gotten wider and wider and is now bigger than the male, so i say within the next week she will give birth. But under normal circumstances if you have sexually mature mice, your female will give birth about every 30 days. Keep in mind that the first litters are usually not as large compared to when the female gets older.

 BREEDING MICE

If you are having trouble getting a male and female to mate try removing the female for a day or so and then reintroducing them in "HIS" cage, this can sometimes send the message to the female that she is not the dominate one.

As for cages I just use 10 gallon aquariums with screened lids. I put a Kleenex box in there for them to make their nest in, sometimes they totally destroy it other times they don’t. Usually one wheel in there and a food bowl. If I am breeding more than one female I put an extra feeding bowl in there.

 BREEDING MICE

i breed rats however the concept would be the same. I did make one modification though. Instead of the screened opening being on top i put it on the side.

Komodoman- If I am not mistaken the cage pictured above is made from a standard plastic storage comtainer... all they really did was cut out the top and add a screen... very easy and relatively cheap to make :)
