 Mouse and rat question

What exactly is your question? Do you mean feed a mouse and rat to a snake/predator or to feed the actual mouse and rat them-self.

To feed the mouse and rat them-self I use a mixture that I mix at home that contains Wild Bird seed, Cornflakes, Cheerios, Dried (uncooked) Elbow noodles, and dog food. I feed this to both my rats and mice. Others will have other mixes that they feed their rodents and may have different mixes for rats and mice. Some just use the Lab blocks at the store or seed mixes for hamsters. The choice is really up to you and how (formulated) you want the food to be for them. With rats it is a good idea to give them "table scraps" at least once a week as well as fresh fruit and veggies. Mice like fresh veggies and some fruit as well. I don’t know which is safe to feed each though but others here will.

If you mean how do you feed a snake/predator a mouse or rat then that is a different answer. I feed my snakes all prekilled mice only, none of my snakes are big enough to have full grown rats. Three of my four snakes won’t even touch a mouse if it is still breathing, they had bad experiences in the past. I feed my snakes in separate containers outside of their cages. I found that feeding my snakes inside their cages got me bit by a hungry and eager snake that thought it was striking at a mouse. For me, this is best and the snakes have learned that when they are put in their feeding containers that food will be coming soon. Others here may not like this method but again it is strictly up to you as to what works best for you.
