 Blindness in red eyes

Is there a direct link to eye color and blindness in rats?

The reason I ask is because later in Fawn’s life she showed symptoms of blindness, although it was never confirmed by a vet.

Fawn was a tan hooded odd-eyed female with a white stripe on the right side of her face, if this helps.

That I know of,there isn’t.
Iv had plenty of old red, blue eyed rats and have never noticed them to be more susceptible to blindness because of their eye color....
Blindness in a rat is either going to be because of a genetic disposition to it(as in would affect a normal rat too),or from an injury.
Not because the eye itself is lacking melanin...
