my new hamster birta when i tried picking her p today she maid a bunch of noises my mom thinks she is calling for somone cause shes lonly should i get another one.i feel real bad for her that shes lonly.

Hamsters are not extremly social and don’t have to have a friend, as long as you play with them. If you want you can get another hamster but he’s probably just making those noises cause he’s getting use to you.

I agree with the prev. poster but on the other hand it really depends on the type of hamster... if your talking a syrian hamster (the large ones that are typically thought of when you say hamster) then shes right they are not social creatures... they tend to fight/kill cage mates no matter what gender... though there are always exceptions to this rule... if your talking a dwarf they are rather social, they tend to do well in pairs, however introductions do not always go well... like i said there are exceptions... good luck with your hamster!

you most likely wont be able to keep him in the same cage (once in a while i hear of them getting along but rarely does it owrk for long) so youll need a cage and all the supplies for him.... plus youll need extra cages to put babies in once they are weaned... at least two...
