Introducing Rats? I’ve had Daphne for about a year, now...she was born and raised as a pet, so when I went to the petstore and asked for them to order me a female, I made sure they knew it was to be not white; not bred for feeding. I trust the petstore, they’re good friends of mine, so I’ll be getting the new rat sometime this week...questions!
How long should the new one be isolated? And how do I go about introducing them? I’ve found some things online, but I don’t trust ’em.
Thanks.

Introducing Rats? The quarantine should be at least 30days, thats a min our local rat lady suggests at least 45 but 30 should be fine... as for introducing them the rat book I have says to introduce them in a neutral area like the bath tub and you can try putting a little bit of perfume one each rat (the same scent) if they dont get along at first.... GL!

Introducing Rats? Definitely quarantine them for 30 days. I would not sure perfume though-you can try either some talcum powder and rub a little on each OR you can get a wash cloth, rub it on the one rat and then rub it on the other rat and kinda do this a couple of times so there scents will blend. And of course-post pics!
