 Dark mice bad?

I would say the exact opposite.

White mice and rats (i.e. feeder rodents) are bred carelessly with no regard to temperment, genetics and health.

Coloured animals are generally from private lines, and tend to be selectively bred for being pets for the most part. Of course, pet stores can let any rodent population get out of control, but if there is inbreeding with one family, there is inbreeding with them all regardless of colour.

Another thing I would wonder about is the fact the inbreeding does not produce any diseases or disorders that would affect the animal (snake?) you are feeding. These would be disorders of the genetic types. Something like mites or the like that could affect your pet would come from dirty cages, regardless of mouse colour.

I too have never heard of any particular color being bad... I have however heard of a snake only eating dark mice or only eating light mice simply cause the snake was picky... and like the pp said any mouse reguardless of color has a chance of being inbred to some extent... only difference I know between light/dark color is that the white ones are generally meant for food and the colored ones are generally for pets... Dark mice = dark meat
White mice = white meat

Tan mice taste like butterscotch.
Black & White Mice taste like oreo cookies
White mice taste like vanilla
Black mice taste like chocolate
Brown mice taste like coffee
Silver mice make your teeth tingle.

I know, my corn snake told me so!
