 Mites?

Ok I have 6 mice on wood shaving bedding (I forget what kind) with some of that carefresh stuff for nesting... and lately we have been finding a TON of these BRIGHT red bugs almost look like little mini spiders... could they have come from the bedding? Anyone know what I can do about them... they are all over the house but seem to be in greater concentration in/near the mouse cages

thanks for the help

 Mites?

You might have an infestation in your house, or just some bugs that came with the bedding.... Bugs are attracted to rodents because of their smell so that may be why they are around your mice. Check the bedding and if the insects are mainly in the bedding, switch it. But if they aren’t, call an exterminator.

 Mites?

aparently its not just a house infestation... but a property one... the buggars are EVERYWHERE!!! O.o we know they arent mites but arent sure what they are exactly atm... We talked to our neighbors (we are new here) and they said every couple of years theres an explosion of the things... not a whole lot we can do about them... they seem to be gone around the mouse cage thankfully :)
