 My old mouse cage

i think i got the substrate wrong and that’s why they wouldn’t breed. here’s a pic of the old "trying to breed" cage.

the bedding is not what people usually use, in fact I cant honestly say I or anyone else I have ever known used that... What I use is aspen chips (tan/white wood shavings really) and some of that bedding that looks like lint for their nests, it has worked pretty well for me, have had alot of litters born none that made it tho :( havent quite found a spot in the house where the kids wont bother them at lol

now i just use shredded newspaper. i forgot the water canteen thing at my mom’s house. will the water bowl do until a few days?

i also forgot the mouse food there. what are some easy homemade recipies for mice?

My mice depending on their age... usually took about 2mo or so to get used to and comfy with their new home and then I got babies about 20 or so days later... gl with your babies:D

i’ve been gone for over a month so i guess in another month or two i will see babies?
i changed my cage around again.now it is 3/4 aspen 1/4 shredded newspaper.

it may take yours a little longer cause you keep changing the bedding but it may not depends on teh mice... the age of your mice may also be a factor... too old or too young and youll have problems...
